Telefonía
2008
“Telephony” is a series of explorations into human fears regarding the transformation of the body and human interaction, stemming from the development of telephone technology.
These projections blend images of the unconscious, the psychological, and the physical through drawings with repetitive strokes, collages with magazine clippings and juxtaposed lines; and sculptural pieces that combine found devices and volumes of organic forms modeled in clay.
These works function as visual fictions or premonitions constructed from nightmares experienced during the rise of mobile phones in Central America.
