I paint so as not to forget

I Paint to Not Forget is a pictorial log fiction, told in the first person. I constructed the images from a mix of stories from women who worked from home during the pandemic period and self-referential photographs. The proposal explores the emotional dimension of individual routine in the privacy of the home and the transformations of work relationships, technology and emotional ties, during social distancing due to SARS-CoV-2. I Paint to Not Forget is a statement about the value of micronarratives to build memories. This series of paintings are records about frustrations, anxieties and at the same time about the search for refuges to resist. The proposal also problematizes the paradoxes about the act of painting during the crisis: it is like a cake full of fissures and cracks.
